‘Washed-Out Silver Birches’ //Consideration of Ink & Line

Ink Drawing base

The graphic, ethereal shapes of the ‘washed-out’ trees within my narrative felt particularly strong visual devices within my imagery. I had previously made observations on the ‘bleeding’ quality within my Quink medium and strength within my quality of line and so I decided to focus some attention on how the interplay of the two could be extended and accentuated. Through layered and inverted experiments using Photoshop, I made some interesting visual effects to push forward. The addition of the sharp lines helped blend the less ‘solid’ ink drawing base to the details I proposed to add, the inverted white lines seemed especially successful in creating a glowy and sublime aesthetic to compliment my spiritual concept.
